COVID-19 Athletics Resource Center

Northgate High School takes the safety and health of all our student-athletes very serious.  We are also committed to protecting the health of our staff, coaches, families, and community.

Precautionary measures in accordance with Contra Costa Health Services (CC Health) and Mt. Diablo Unified School District (MDUSD) will be effect under further notice.

We encourage everyone to continue practicing social distancing, wear a well-fitted mask, and increased personal hygiene.

We appreciate everyone's flexibility as new guidance and requires are released on a frequent basis.  Full information regarding updated guidelines can be found on our school district and county health websites.

Basketball Attendance - Update 2/6/2022

We will continue to require all spectators to wear masks at all times while indoors.  You will not be allowed to bring Food or Drink into the gym.  Ticket sales will continue through GoFan for each game. 


Athlete COVID-19 Testing Requirements

Per guidance from Contra Costa Health Services (CC Health) and Mt. Diablo Unified School District (MDUSD), Northgate High School has implemented a weekly testing protocol for all athletes:

  • Outdoor Athletes who are not able to show proof of vaccination will be required to test weekly.
  • Indoor Athletes will all be required to test weekly regardless of vaccination status.

Northgate High School provides testing on-campus for student-athletes.  No appointments or pre-registration is required to test.

  • Mondays 3:00pm-6:00pm @ Room 91 (In Breezeway Near Gym)
  • Wednesdays 7:00am-8:00am @ Room 91 (In Breezeway Near Gym)
  • Fridays 3:00pm-5:00pm @ Room 91 (In Breezeway Near Gym)

Student-Athletes will be required to bring the following forms to EVERY test.  Students under the age of 18 years and uninsured students will need to bring additional forms.  Please fill out the form digitally (if possible) before printing.

Submitting Proof of Vaccination or Test Results

Parents/Guardians will upload a copy of their students Proof of Vaccination to SportsNet through the same registration process that was done pre-season to any sport.

If you use testing services at Northgate High School, your test results will be automatically forwarded to our school office.  

If you use an off-campus testing service, you will be required to forward your weekly test results to Principal Kelly Cooper upon receipt to be cleared for that week.


Notification of Positive Test Result or Exposure

If in the event your student-athletes tests positive or is exposed to someone tested positive with COVID-19, please immediately perform the following steps:

  • Email Principal Kelly Cooper to receive next steps - Provide student name, sports involved in, and last attended practice, game, or meeting.  The school will assistant with contact tracing.
  • Do not attend a practice, game, team event until cleared by school administration or office staff. 
  • Contact your health provider for medical advice.

If your student-athlete has be exposed to someone positive for COVID-19 (classmate, teammate, opponent, etc.), you will receive an email with further instructions and if you student-athlete will be allowed to continue athletic participation.
