SEASON SUMMARY
2011 DVAL CHAMPIONS
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WOMEN'S TENNIS TEAM
The regular season ended on 10/19. The DVAL individual tournament was completed 10/27 with Northgate winning both the singles (Lindsey Welch) and doubles (Vanessa Shi/Stephanie Shimizu) championships. Next up was the first round of the North Coast Section (NCS) team tournament November 8. After 4 hours and playing in the dark, Northgate lost to Campolindo 4-3. The NCS individual tournament for singles and doubles was played November 15 at James Logan High School in Union City. Northgate was represented by DVAL singles champion and MVP Lindsey Welch. In doubles, Northgate was represented by two teams - Stephanie Shimizu and Vanessa Shi and Jillian Nichols and Shannon Markiewicz. The girls completed the regular season and NCS with a 17-4 record (12-0 DVAL).
