The Northgate High School Sports Medicine Program, started by Glen Barker in 1990, is one of the most popular programs at Northgate. The 150 students enrolled in the program must complete a vigorous UC certified curriculum in addition to hands-on experience at school and in the arena. The program is administered by ROP (Regional Occupational Program), and is offered to any junior or senior student enrolled in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District. The program includes human anatomy, nutrition, emergency medical care, evaluations of athletes’ injuries, CPR training, weight training, equipment fitting, taping of athletes, and the like. 

Barker and the Sports Medicine program provide injury prevention, rehabilitation, and a variety of athletic training and sports medicine duties at Northgate practices and games. For information about the Northgate Sports Medicine Program feel free to contact Glen Barker.
